Die deutsche INITIATIVE ANTI-CORRIDA (INITIATIVE GEGEN STIERKAMPF) wurde
im Jahr 2000 in München gegründet. Sie ist eine Arbeitsgemeinschaft von
animal 2ooo – Menschen für Tierrechte Bayern e.V. Wir unterstützen
ausländische Tierrechtsorganisationen im Kampf gegen Stierkampf und
Blut-Fiestas. In Deutschland konzentrieren wir uns auf Rodeo.
Wir bringen diese Themen in die Öffentlichkeit. Außerdem arbeiten wir
politisch auf EU-Ebene mithilfe von Präsentationen und Lobbying.
Ebenso dokumentieren wir Blut-Fiestas und Stierkämpfe vor Ort in Spanien
und Portugal. Wir filmten im Jahr 2002 das grausame Spektakel „Toro de la
Vega“ in Tordesillas (Spanien), wo ein Stier mit Lanzen zu Tode gefoltert
wird. Weiterhin konnten wir 2003 in Villanueva de la Vera (Spanien)
dokumentieren, dass der Esel in der „Pero Palo“-Fiesta trotz des neuen
Tierschutzgesetzes immer noch leiden muss.
Dank der engen Zusammenarbeit mit der spanischen Tierrechtsorganisation
Asociación Nacional Para la Protección y el Bienestar de los Animales
(ANPBA) und der britischen Tierrechtsorganisation FIGHT AGAINST ANIMAL
CRUELTY IN EUROPE (FAACE) führte unsere Arbeit zu Anzeigen bei den
zuständigen Behörden.
The German INITIATIVE ANTI-CORRIDA (INITIATIVE AGAINST BULLFIGHTING) was
founded in 2000 in Munich. It is an associate of the German animal rights
organization animal 2ooo – Menschen für Tierrechte Bayern e.V.
We support foreign organizations in the battle against bullfighting and
blood fiestas. In Germany we concentrate on rodeo.
We educate the public about these topics and work politically at EU-level
by means of presentations and lobbying.
We also document blood fiestas and bullfights in Spain and Portugal. Among
other blood fiestas we went to the cruel “Toro de la Vega” spectacle in
Tordesillas (Spain) in 2002. In this blood fiesta a bull is speared to
death with lances. In 2003 we were able to document that the donkey in the
“Pero Palo” fiesta in Villanueva de la Vera (Spain) is still suffering
despite a new animal welfare law.
Thanks to our close co-operation with the Spanish animal rights
organization Asociación Nacional Para la Protección y el Bienestar de los
Animales (ANPBA) and the British animal rights group FIGHT AGAINST ANIMAL
CRUELTY IN EUROPE (FAACE) our work led to administrative complaints with
the respective authorities.
