Friends of Dogs object to the killing of dogs for meat and/or fur anywhere in the world. Its objective is to inform people the truth about this horror and suggest possible solutions to the problem. Its fundamental belief is that dogs should never be killed for human greed. These astonishing animals have brightened and enriched the lives of so many humans through their special qualities.

Unfortunately dogs have been subject to painful death due to erroneous belief in some parts of the world. In Korea, a cruel contradiction exists. There are many Koreans who cherish the immense joy that dogs can bring to them joy and reciprocate in return. On the other hand, the human tendencies to repay those who love them unconditionally with contempt and maltreatment have cruel bearings for many Korean dogs. Not only dogs are still tortured to death due to a superstitious belief but also the consumption of these beautiful animals is on the increase backed up by powerful dog meat industry that quickly marketed this superstitious belief.

The dogs in China suffer no less than the dogs in Korea. Too long the problem of the torture and killing of dogs in China has been ignored. It's time for their cries to be listened and attended too. Unfortunately it is the Chinese government that encourages the farming of these highly intelligent animals.

Killing dogs for consumption is often an act of ignorance and is betrayal of their trust. It is also an act of greed that is answerable for the massive scale of slaughter of dogs and cats in Korea and China.

Unfortunately this tragedy has been largely ignored and many turned away from the suffering of these beautiful animals on the ground that eating dogs is culture. However culture should never be used as an excuse to turn away from the suffering. People must be informed of this tragedy and the subsequent anger must be directed in a way to save these dogs. Our dogs have always been by our side and came to our rescue when we needed help. It’s our turn to be true friends to these wonderful animals.

Friends of Dogs support Korea Animal Protection Society's efforts for fighting to end the horror in their own country. It also supports the wonderful work of Sirius in their fighting to get the importation and breeding of dogs and their classification as livestock by the Chinese, stopped.

It tries to discover many conscientious organisations that fight to end this cruel killing and inform people of their work. There are also articles that represent the much-ignored voices of caring people around the world who object to dog meat.
